Bob Plod

Bob Plod

There was a man called Bob Plod who lived only to please god.
This annoyed his real god which was himself, of course.
Bob Plod god wanted to be able to show Bob Plod the truth, that Bob Plod is the god that he is seeking.
Bob Plod couldn’t hear because his blind obsession with religion, closed his mind to broader understandings.
Once a man chooses a religion to follow, the dogma of that religion replaces the whispers from the infinite heart.
That’s like wearing a monkey mask and forgetting that’s not what you look like.
Your true heart cannot be heard once the ego convinces you that you already know the truth and if you need anything else, it can be found in some stale, old doctored texts.
That’s like wearing dirty dark glasses while walking through an art gallery.
True understanding of life cannot be found in the outer world, in finite life.
It can only be found from within, from your infinite life.
You are infinite, that’s what your heart speaks from, that’s what you are, an eternal thingy.
Anything else is trivia.
Bob Plod tried to please the god in the stale, old doctored texts he read, but it was impossible.
The texts were contradictory, confusing and even immoral in places.
Not only that, they were very difficult and boring to read.
He was shocked to learn that very few of the faithful had actually read them.
Try as he would, he could not even get any answers from the particular brand of god that he had chosen.
There were hundreds to choose from and Bob Plod imagined that it didn’t really matter which one he went after.
But it did, because men are jealous, power-hungry and greedy.
They will not share, just as religions will not share and all claim some sort of exclusive, divine right to the only truth.
Bob Plod god decided that Bob Plod needed a push to wake up.
So Bob Plod god drove him into walls, crashed his fat ego and undermined his confidence.
Eventually Bob Plod broke down and gave up.
This was the opening that Bob Plod god had been working toward.
This gap, this surrender, this releasing of old ideas was the key to understanding.
In this split moment, his heart was able to swamp his mind with the simple truth.
You are the god you have been seeking.
It’s not out there.
There’s nothing much out there, except a few circuses, side shows and cheap carnivals.
Look in the mirror Bob Plod, you are looking at Bob Plod god.
There is no other, you are it.
There is no god in the sky or in a holy book or in a sacred building.
It is you, only you.
Ask your own heart.
Ask it what you want and you don’t have to be humble or holy about it, because it is you and it is most unlikely that you will be offended by you.
You have forgotten.
You have been misled by your own vanity.
Your own ego kept you grovelling up the humility track which allowed the whole world to walk upon you.
Stand up.
Take your rightful position in the world.
Think about it and ask your heart about it, until you truly understand it.
Keep it to yourself, though, people are bitter, their minds are narrow and unforgiving.
Silently change your thinking and silently your world will change.
You are god, so is everyone else but they forgot.
